Research Interests
My research primarily involves the genetic mapping of complex traits and diseases through genome-wide association analysis as well as the development of statistical methodology to better accomplish this task. My research encompasses a wide spectrum of phenotypes but especially Ankylosing Spondylitis (a form of auto-immune arthritis), bone mineral density, and developmental phenotypes as measured in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and their Children. I am involved in several large international collaborations which aim to detect disease associated variants by genome-wide association including the TASC, GIANT and EGG consortia. I am an MRC New Investigator.
