Data Interpretation Exercise

As the in course assessment for the Epidemiology and Biostatistics element, the Data Interpretation Exercise (DIE) contributes 7% of the marks to the Human Basis of Medicine examination (20% of the Epidemiology and Biostatistics element). The purpose of the exercise is to bring together your knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics, which you have gained over the course, and apply it by appraising a published study.

Before downloading the respective word files, please complete the electronic feedback form. This will only take a few minutes. This is important as it enables us to monitor how well the course works from year to year and make changes where appropriate:

The following will open a word template which you must use to complete the DIE. This template has all the questions and blank boxes for you to enter your answer. We have designed this to give you an indication of how much you need to write as students often write too much. You cannot exceed the space provided by the box but you don't have to fill all the space:
